ITANAGAR, JUNE 1 : AAPATSU demands permanent solution to PRC and ST issue of Lekang area; announced protest rally. The All Arunachal Pradesh Abo Tani students union (AAPATSU) on Wednesday during a press conference has announced to carry out a protest march in the city to press the state government to resolve the PRC and ST issue of Lekang area of Namsai district.

Addressing the media person here at Arunachal Press club, the AAPATSU President Langpu Apon Maru said that we have received representation from All Arunachal Deori welfare association (AAPWA) and United people movement of Lekang (UPMOL) and they sought our intervention to short out their long pending issue related to PRC/ST/SC issue. He said.

We have approached the Deputy Chief Minister who is one of the senior most elected representative and also have represented for more than twenty years and represented the Lekang assembly constituency and all the these issues have been erupted during his tenure though he not representing the constituently now but still in same Namsai district and responsibility lies to him also. he said.

We also know that the government has issued notification for no PRC issue again but the issue to be resolved once for all. The PRC issue of Lekang needs one time permanent settlement and solution. He said.

It is a matter of fact in spite of several hue and cry previously it has been observed that several non APST are PRI members and they need to be terminated if they have not submitted the required documents like PRC, ST, SC certificate which are mandatory for contesting any election, wheat is the reason that they are still enjoying and the state government is yet to take any action. He said.

In Spite of keeping pending the issue for such a long time a superlative mechanism to bring a permanent solution without depriving the rights of other indigenous tribes of Arunachal Pradesh. We have submitted a memo to Dy CM Chowna Mein on March 24. Though we have not approached the CM and present local MLA of Likang. He said.

To press the issue and demand we are carrying out a rally and protest march from Akash deep to IG Park on June 4 to bring the attention of the DY CM and other members of state government for immediate and permanent solution to the long pending issue. He further said.
