AAPWU oath taking ceremony held for newly elected executive members

ITANAGAR, An oath taking ceremony was held here today for the newly elected executive members along with the district presidents and secretaries of the All Arunachal Pradesh Workers’ Union (AAPWU) for the session 2021- 2024.

Talking to the media fraternity president AAPWU, Jalley Sonam informed that the motive of the union is to ensure that all the workers community are being treated with dignity and to check corruption in various departments.

Various ailments of the work sector, such as sexual harassment of lady workers, unnecessary terminations, illegal appointments, regular payment of wages etc. also are integral job roles of the union, said Sonam.

With the commencement of the oath taking ceremony, Sonam disclosed that the immediate priorities of the union are to implement labor laws and control the labor rates by suggesting the state government to do so in the assembly sessions.

As the BJP led government plans to make amendments regarding labor laws, Sonam suggests that the issues regarding labor rates need to be fixed prior to the implementation of the laws.

Also, all the workers working as casual labour in various departments for a minimum tenure of 30 years should be given priority and posts should be created for them through staff selection board and various other departments, added Sonam.
