Arunachal Pradesh ready to welcome PM Modi

ITANAGAR, Nov 18: All the preparations to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hollongi under the jurisdiction of Papum Pare district have been almost completed as per the protocol and all the departments of the State are doing their work as per the requirement, said Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Sachin Rana.

Deputy Commissioner Rana while speaking to reporters at the AP Civil Secretariat here today said, “It is a happy occasion that our Prime Minister is arriving in our State and we need to welcome and greet him.”

“The preparation has been done as per protocol. The preparation had been underway since a long and all the things have been duly verified and checked by the respective officers of the concerned departments of the State and central government,” Rana said.

“The PM will arrive at around 9.30 am and land at Donyi Polo Airport, which is a Greenfield and one of the beautiful airports of the region. He will address the public on the occasion and the program may be for around one-and-half hours,” he said.

As per the direction of the SPG, several dos and don’ts and advisories have been issued for the general public and parking and plying of vehicles on the route between Itanagar-Hollongi on NH-415.

All those, who are coming to attend the inauguration of the airport have been requested to come between 6 am and during such time, the highway will be made one way and no vehicle would be allowed to move from Hollongi to Itanagar after the program, no vehicle will be allowed to enter from Chimpu check post to Hollongi till completion of the program after 11 AM, he said.

The PM will inaugurate two projects including the Donyi Polo Airport and 600 MW KHEP through virtual mode.

The sitting arrangement has been made for 10,000 people in an area of 51000 sq ft, the DC said. The general public has been requested not to bring any weapons, bags, food items, and water bottles. The provision of drinking water for around 2000 people has been made.

CrPc 144 has already been enforced in view of the PM’s security. No fly zone for drones has also been declared and all land-cutting activities have been directed to stop. Internet of Jio and BSNL will be made available and anyone can witness it even in live mode on various TV channels including DD.
