Capital DC, ADC, & DMO visited Jully Jail after detection of 34 positive cases of Covid 19

ITANAGAR, JUNE 10: The Capital Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom along with ADC Talom Dupok, DMO Dr. Mandip Perme today visited the jully jail and discussed with the Jail authority with regards to the surge of Covid 19 cases in the Jail premises.  

Potom interacted with the Jail authority which included SP (Prison) Tojo Karga, medical staff and others and took the stock of preparation and management of Covid 19 in the Jail premises.

DC speaking to media, said that after the information and recommendation of medical fraternity of capital complex the capital administration on Wednesday and the Isolation room of the Jully Jail has been converted into the Covid Care centre (CCC) on temporary basis for the inmates of the district Jail, Jully, Itanagar till further order. He said.

All the necessary guidelines and direction and orders has to be followed and I have requested the medical fraternity of the Jail premises to abide by it and also I in consultation with the Capital DMO will ensure all the inmates of the Jail are vaccinated for the Covid 19 within few days and for which necessary direction has been issued. However all the inmates have been tested through RAT. DC said.’

We will see that all the staff are also vaccinated and tested as a safety measure. DC said.

Capital DMO Dr. Manip Perme informed that after detection of 34 positive cases of Covid 19 in the Jully Jail on Tuesday, all inmates have been isolated and accordingly a order has been passed to start with CCC. We will be providing all logistic support and other necessary items including the RAT kits and vaccination will be provided. Necessary tips have been given to the medical fraternity working in the Jail for smooth functioning of the CCC. DMO added.
