Capital police are working round the clock maintaining restrictions as a safety measure
BANDERDEWA, MAY 10 : The capital police is working round the clock and maintaining restriction of movement of general masses in view of safety of the health of the people and also by the order of the district magistrate. Informed Naharlagun SDPO Rike Kamsi.
Kamsi said the state government has imposed night curfew across the state and the Capital district administration has imposed full containment (lockdown) in the entire capital region and we are implementing the order in later spirit. We have sufficient force and are being engaged in various parts of the capital region and guiding the general masses and informing them to stay at home and observe the containment order to break the chain of infection of the Coronavirus from the capital region. He said.
The full containment order is from Monday 5 AM and since then our police personals have been deployed at dozens of checknakas and checkpoints in various parts of the capital complex and national highway right from Chimpu-Banderdewa to restrict the unnecessary movement of people. Most of the people are very cooperative and supporting the administration and health department in their endeavors is an appreciating trend and if it continue we hope that the health department and medical fraternity with the help of administration and government may be able to contain the spread the infection of coronavirus from capital complex and state as a whole. He said.
” In my jurisdiction of Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa most of the business establishment, offices and other institution remain close and the institution and shops dealing with essential commodities including water supply, power supply, milk supply, delivery system were functioning while staffs of hospitals, police, power and water supply, telecommunication system and banks and financial institution were seen on roads. Few people with patients and medical checkup are also given free excess and exempt from the order and even the police personnels have tried to help them”, SDPO said.
The order is for the betterment of the people’s health and hope that everyone should support and cooperate and stay indoor without unnecessary moving around the city or else we are on the street to stop them and take legal action, SDPO added.
