Itanagar, September 5: DC ICC Talo Potom flagged off garbage lifting vehicles for Jollang area today in presence of Panchayat members, Officers and others. He lauded the people of Jollang area for becoming self-reliant by finding innovative ideas of garbage management. He asked them to utilise the service of the vehicle.
GPC Jollang Panchayat Tana Taha Tara said that the vehicle could be purchased only through the cooperation of all the residents of Jollang area especially elders and also acknowledged the contribution of people like Likha Tayam, Harilal Mondal and others who have helped them right from processing of loans, to sanctioning and the purchasing of the vehicle.
He hoped that the cooperation and support of all would continue in the coming days too.
He also thanked the Director APEDA for providing 47 No of street lights to the jollang area and also to the Regional Manager SBI for Installing 2 SBI ATM booths in the area.
During the programme, the GPC also submitted a memorandum to the DC highlighting few issues like proper demarcation of boundary between Jollang and 4th IRBN, Construction of drainage system, providing of dustbin to the residents, creation of additional post of Gaon Burah etc.
Also extending thanks to the team of Don Bosco School and College for their cooperation,the GPC requested the DC to explore possibilities of installing Solar light inside the campus of the school and College as it is the lone area of Jollang where programmes are mostly conducted.
Taro Tagia ZPM 11- Baat Ganga Zilla Constituency who attended the event as Guest of Honour also spoke on the occasion.
The DC was accompanied by EACs Datum Gadi, Aying Perme, DACO Tem Kaya and a host of other officers.
Fr Jose George Principal DBC also participated.
