District Administration imposed night curfew from May 1

ITANAGAR, 30 Apr:

The deputy commissioner ICR Talo Potom informed that curfews and restrictions are imposed based on the SOPs on Covid 29 prepared by central and state government. Briefing mediapersons here on Friday Potom said any decision to impose lockdown and restrictions will be made by respective deputy commissioners in consultation with the state government.

“Lockdown is imposed if cases cross 10% cross and hospital occupancy is above 40%. Right now in ICR case is around 7% and therefore there is no need to impose total lockdown,” said DC Potom.

On the decision to impose curfew from evening 9 PM to morning 5 AM, DC said the decision was taken after wider consultation of senior officials of state, local MLA Techi Kaso, Mayor, corporators, SP and health officials. “They have agreed to support the move. Every citizen has to extend support to stop the second wave of Covid 19. No one should go outside unless there is urgent work,” DC added.

The DC also informed that the magistrate and police will be deployed at vaccination centres in order to prevent large gatherings.

Further DC Potom urged people to avoid gathering at this juncture. “This is not the right time to organize a rally, dharna etc. Right now we need to save ourselves and therefore gatherings should be avoided at any cost,” he added.
