Manoj Singh || NAHARLAUGN, OCT 10 : The operationalisation of much ambitious Greenfield Hollongi airport services target to start from August 15 get delayed due to technical reason. It is expected that the flight service may start from October. Said Civil Aviation, Transport and Toursim Minister Nakap Nalo.
Speaking to media during a function at Naharlagun helipad the civil aviation minister said that the infrastructure is almost completed and as per the Director general civil aviation (DGCA) and airport authority of India (AAI) the majority of requirement are almost over but there is a technical problem in operation with regard to scheduling of flight services of airlines. He said.
Almost all the airlines has a programme of scheduling of the airlines flight service for commercial purpose and the scheduling may take space in October till such time we have to wait for the schedule timing of the commercial flight service to Hollongi airport.
We have discussion with two three airlines flight service providers destination schedules is done and it will be in October. The first connectivity will be with national capital New Delhi and to other destinations. The Minister said.
The airport is ready for operation in all respect by flight service may be form October so it I better to wait for it by October and we are hopeful that two-three airlines may provide flight service from Hollongi airport. The Minister said.
Test landing has been done, runway is competed and other infrastructure required is completed. Terminal is ready, security issue has been finalized, all necessary license and permission is almost done and there are no any such issues. He said.
All the advance landing ground and flight service to Pasighat, Tezu and Ziro and other also will be connected with Hollongi airport once it is operationalised. The Minister added.
It is to state that the state cabinet has recently taken a decision to change the name of Greenfield Hollongi airport to Donyi polo airport.
