ITANAGAR, Hundreds of people from various union and organisation carried out protest march demanding immediate registration of FIR in SIC (Vigilance) Police station against allege corruption and corrupt practice and nepotism prevailing in department of Sports and demanding justice in favour of international Archer Sorang Yumi.
Hundreds of people from various walks of life from various unions and organisations carried out protest marches holding play cards, banners, shouting slogans demanding justice for International Archer Sorang Yumi and immediate registration of FIR in SIC (Vigilance ) Police station against the department of Sports. The protest rally organized by the Anti Corruption foundation of Arunachal Pradesh began from Akashdeep shopping complex in Ganga Market to the Tennis court area of IG Park.
Several organization/union which accompanied the ACFAP in the protest are Gungli welfare society, All Pipsorang circle welfare association, Frontier Arunachal anti corruption sena, All Tagin students union, Lobi youth association, All Ha Bango youths welfare association, Anti corruption Upper Subansiri district unit etc.
The Anti Corruption foundation of Arunachal Pradesh (ACFAP) President Tana Roma Tara said that the state government is befooling them in the name of investigation but it is a fact that till today the FIR has not been registered by the state investigation cell (SIC, Vigilance) Police station in spite of the FIR has been submitted long back. As per the observation everyone can assume/presume there has been corruption and nepotism in the department of Sports otherwise there has been several forms of protest like submission of memorandum at the various level and other form of democratic movement which include sit on dharna etc but no one from the department either the director, secretary or the minister has come forward and spoke on the issue properly. He said.
Our organisation is alleging the corrupt practice which has been going in the department otherwise the department would have come clean in the public and this act of the officers of the department is proving that something in the department is not in proper way and need immediate registration of FIR submitted earlier and it will prove whether the allegation leveled by several organization is true or false, since the Pema Khandu led government is stated to be zero tolerance on corruption and known for its good governance so the state government should immediately direct the SIC (Vigilance) to register the case and start with investigation. We are not demanding anything wrong. Said Roma adding that let the investigation take place and everything will be black and white in the eye of the general public.
Sorang Yumi, belongs to Kra-Daadi District and has brought laurels to the state with her achievements in the field of Archery, a disciplined sport. However, her rightful post of Archery Coach was not given to her in spite of it genuinely and after lots of hue and cry she was awarded and we do not want that but we want justice for her. The issue chairman cum Kra daadi district unit president Tai Tahar said.
We demand for SIC enquiry and directions in this regard to unearth the truth and on confirming the alleged abuse of power and nepotism being done and the person responsible be punished to set an example to all from refraining from doing the same. Tahar added.
