ICICI Bank’s Bomdila Branch manager & employee arrested for fraud case

BOMDILA, Two bank officers/officials of ICICI Bank here at Bomdila have been arrested by the Bomdila police in connection with the mismanagement on Tuesday January 25. Informed West Kameng SP BR Bommareddy.

SP informed that on Tuesday the Bomdila Police arrested one Tomal Chakraborty 36 yrs , Branch Manager ICICI Bank and one Sange Dorjee employee, ICICI Bank Bomdila in connection with  Bdl PS . C/No. 01/2022 U/S 409/201 IPC for committing Criminal Breach of trust by mismanaging an amount of Rs 1 (one) Crore of a local lady who fixed deposited the amount for three months. He said.

SP Informed that When the complainant claimed her money on maturity, the bank officials started delaying the process by quoting frivolous reasons. On several requests and approaches they transferred an amount of Rs 25,00,000 (Twenty-five Lakhs) in her account and Rs 75,00,000/- (Seventy Five Lakhs) in her husband’s account for the time being. Suspecting something fishy, the complainant approached the Police. 

Based on written information a case has been registered at Police Station Bomdila and Officer-in -Charge Inspector Krishnendu Dev has taken up the investigation. During the investigation it is revealed that one employee Sange Dorjee has changed the registered mobile number of the complainant to another mobile number without authorization or consent of the FD holder. He then fraudulently authorized overdraft withdrawal in the system. SP said.

The Branch Manager Tomal Chakraborty and employee Sange Dorjee have been arrested and SIM card , mobile phone used in crime  etc have been seized. SP added.

Further investigation is going on in this instant case. SP Reddy further said.
