IG Park ready for 73rd Republic Day celebration

ITANAGAR, The 73rd republic day celebration of the country to be celebrated in a low profile state in view of Covid protocol. the main function to be held at IG Park on January 26 and all preparation has been done, informed Capital Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom.

In view of prevailing Covid protocol across the country here in state the 73rd republic day celebration at state level function is being held at IG Park the programme has been arranged accordingly and management has been made so far to celebrate the function smoothly without any problems. Potom said.

January 26 is an important day for all of us as the people of the country celebrate the Republic day every year and final rehearsal of the parade has already been done. This year the parade is also static and very few invitations have been given and limited invitations has been sent,  though seating arrangement has been made sufficient for those who may come to witness the event but while maintaining the Covid protocol. Potom said.

Three uniform contingent are taking part in the parade, the 1st platoon is from 13th Assam Police Battalion and it symbolize our friendship and out team take part in other state, the 2nd is Lady platoon of Arunachal Pradesh Police and the 3rd platoon is of Brass band of PTC, Banderdewa, he said.

As per programme, all VIPs have been invited wherein the Governor Dr. B D MIshra will unfurl the national flag followed by national anthem and further followed by release of tricolor balloon. Governor will take salute and see the static guard of honor, the governor will address the people of state from the IG Park, the chief secretary will announce the state award  and chief ministers award for cleanest village, followed by dispersal of salam/static guards contingent followed by playing of national anthem and departure of chief guest and dignitaries. DC said.

No cultural troops , student teams, no exhibition stalls and no tableau of department and other has been considered keeping the view of the Covid protocol. He informed.

The day is a national holiday for the purpose and everywhere in small locations and district headquarter the republic day is observed by the people, so in Itanagar also there may not be a huge traffic rush and the capital police is looking after the issue.

Meanwhile, Capital SP Jimmy Chiram informs that the capital police is always for the service of the people of the capital complex and on any occasion every citizen and denizen including the vehicle owners and drivers are requested to maintain the traffic rule so that no one gets any hindrance and obstruction from others. Park your vehicle in a safe place as per advisory. SP said.

Extra security arrangements have been made so that the citizens do not face much difficulty. SP added.

The final rehearsal parade was also witness by DGP RP Upadhyaya, senior offices of state government, officers of capital district administration and state and capital police
