ITANAGAR, JULY 30 ; The great social worker and first council member of TCL Khongman Zongsam who passed away on July 29 has been laid to rest with honour in presence of Deputy Speaker Tesam Pongte and other senior officers and public leaders of the area.
Guard of honour was given in respect of Late Khongman Zongsam ,a renowned leader, member of first NEFA council 1969,who dedicated his services for the betterment of TCL (Tirap, Changlang & Longding) region. A renowned personality in TCL region who donated the land to Govt for establishment of Changlang headquarter. Said Deputy Speaker Tesam Pongte.
Officers from the administration’s side, SP and others were present during the farewell to the departed leader and prayed for heavenly abode. Dy Speaker added.
It is to mention that late Zongsam was the first council member during NEFA days and was later elected as Zila parishad member from Changlang district in the year 1969. He also served the public in many capacities as a social worker and was a popular figure among the general public.
His last rite was performed at his native Old Changlang village.
