HOLLONGI, April 10: The experts from Army on Saturday has defused a live mortar cell bomb which had been found in a dumper truck (AS-01HC-5861) carrying boulders from firing Nallah quarry on 7 April in the green field airport construction site at Hollongi in Papum Pare district adjacent to Capital complex. Informed Papum Pare SP Dr. Neelam Nega.

The truck had come from Seijosa in Pakke-Kessang district with boulder loaded at the under construction green field airport worksite. SP Said.

After the recovery of the said bomb it was kept in a safety place till the arrival of the experts from the army.He said.

On Immediately, the matter was intimated to PHQ. With the help of IG (L&O) Chukhu Apa and Security Advisor to Govt of A.P Maj. Gen. S. Mohanty 

The recovered Motar bomb was very old, rusted and weighed around 3.5kg.

Later, bomb experts from Likabali-based 56 division ordnance, Maj Yogesh, Subeder Sailendra Singh and Lance Naik Saurav Kumar defused the bomb on Saturday morning at around 11 AM at an isolated place near the greenfield airfield site with the help of Balijan SDPO D Gumja, Balijan PS OC Inspector T Milan and Hollongi IC OP Sub-inspector M Hussain and fire service officials. Dr Nega added.
