Nokte women association in colloboratioion with APSCW conduct legal awareness programne on women rights

Khonsa, The Nokte Women Association In Collaboration with APSCW conducted one day  Legal Awareness Program on Women’s Right at Circuit House Khonsa on 16th November 2021 in which Chairperson (APSCW) Radhim Chai Techi graced the program in presence of Deputy Commissioner, Taro Mize, Tirap District, Dy.SP Khonsa Khewang Khetey, Heyomai Towsik, Vice Chairperson (APSCW), Techi Hunmai (Member APSCW), Hoksum Ori (Member APSCW),  Nyilom wangsu, Secretary NWA, DDSE Hortum Loyi , HoDs, Women representatives from several villages of Tirap District.

While addressing the gathering Radhilu, Chairperson( APSCW) appreciated the NWA and DA for organizing the Legal Awareness Program which is the need of the hour and thanked them for inviting her to graced the auspicious event. Techi also expresses happiness to see women’s participation from several villages of the district and urged them to go back and shared what ever they have learnt from the awareness program with their women’s folk and further stated that all the women should join hands in getting women’s right from the grass root level. And cited that Gaon Buris  in some village of Arunachal Pradesh can also be seen and request the women to take up the issue of selecting Gaon Buris in Tirap District too.- Responding to DC’s speech-  Chairperson also highlighted on setting up of Women separate cell in the district and also make the women aware about Domestic Violence taking place in-day-to-day life and condemned the practices of Polygamy in the society. Chairperson also spoke on drug abuse that is spreading like a wild fire in Arunachal Pradesh and warned about its consequences in the family. And added that a strong legal law is needed in stopping Polygamy and domestic violence.
