Team will verify the govt quarter encroachment issue in the Capital complex from January 4 onward : Talo Potom

ITANAGAR, The deputy commissioner Itanagar capital complex Talo Potom has announced that no land passbook will be renewed for those who got allotment in the govt land. Talking to the press here on Monday Potom said besides stopping the renewal of passbook, no fresh allotment will be given to people who have encroached on government land. The verification of govt quarters encroachment will be verified.

“People should stop encroaching on government land. The law is very clear that such people will have to face legal consequences,” said DC Potom. He also made it clear that no allotment can be given to people whose encroachment cases are still pending in the courts. “First settle the case and then get allotment if court clears your case,” said DC.

Further he announced that a team deputed by director housing will verify the encroachment of general pool quarters in Itanagar Capital Complex starting from 4th January, 2022 onwards. The Deputy Commissioner office will provide all logistic support to the team, he added.

Potom also expressed serious concern over construction of illegal structures along the drains and riverside. “The blocking of drains, streams and rivers causes natural disasters. Therefore, it is illegal to construct structures. Also, construction near highway (four lane) by violating ROW will not be tolerated. Soon we will launch a drive against such structures along NH 415,” added DC Potom.
