HOLLONGI, Jul 7: The general manager (GM) of the Airport Authority of India (AAI), Hollongi airport project, Dilip Sajnani has informed that the contract work for the construction of the terminal building here at green field airport has been awarded and the contractor has started the mobilization activities and work may be started soon as per feasible.
Talking to the press here on Wednesday he said even though the progress of the airport has been affected due to monsoon rain and Covid pandemic and lockdown, we are putting all our efforts into completing the airport on time.
“Our target is to complete the project by 2022. The work will pick up pace when the weather gets better, the work of the runway is also in progress” said GM Sajnani. Further he shared that the state government and locals of the area are fully extending support to the project.
The locals are also cooperative and hope if the work progress takes its momentum we may see the changes and the work completed in time.
