Triage centre for Covid 19 has started functioning at Hotel Ashoka

ITANAGAR, 16 May: The Triage centre for Covid 19 has started functioning here at Hotel Ashoka. The centre run by the health department will determine whether a Covid patient should be admitted to a hospital or covid care centre (CCC). Informing this district medical officer (DMO) Itanagar capital region (ICR) Dr Mandip Perme said people can come and get tested in Triage centre if they exhibit any kind of Covid 19 symptoms.

“Blood tests and X Ray are done at the centre. Based on the report the doctors will decide whether a patient will be sent to hospital, CCC or home isolation. Severe cases will be referred to DCH Chimpu,” informed Dr Perme. He also said vaccination for 18 to 44 years will start on Monday.

“Per day 300 people will get vaccines in ICR under this category. As we are in a containment zone and cases are on rise, the number of people who can take vaccines have been kept low to avoid crowding,” he added. DMO Perme urged people to strictly stay at home and follow the containment order.

“Containment zone has been declared to break the chain. People should not go out and maintain home isolation. This is the only way to break the chain link of Covid 19. Continue to wear masks, maintain social distancing and use sanitizer,” he added.
