NAHARLAGUN, The world soil day has been observed by the officers and officials of Soil and water conservation today with several programme in the capital complex.
The day long programme was organised on the occasion of “World Soil Day” with theme “Halt Salinization, boost soil productivity . the occasion was marked by conducting painting competition. around 50 students from Eleazar English school both in Junior and senior categories participated , Documentaries and presentations depicting the importance of soil & Water Conservation in sustainable manner was showcased.
Sr. Officers from the department also spoke about the relevance of Soil & environmental impacts for sustenance of humankind.
Director Soil & Water Conservation Joram Puppa addressed students about the relevance connecting with the soil & farming. the programme was concluded by distribution of prizes to the winners of the event.
He also motivated the young students to work for conservation of water body and best utilized the soil.
