ArSRLM signed MoU with NABARD for operation and migration support centre and retention support unit in Guwahati

ITANAGAR, JAN 09 : The Arunachal state rural livelihood mission (ArSLM) on Tuesday has signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the NABARD) for Establishment and Operation of Migration Support Center and Retention Support Unit in Guwahati under DDU-GKY (Deen Dayal Upadhyaya-Grameen Kaushalya Yojana

The MoU was signed by CEO-cum SMD,ArSRLM and Vice President NABARD Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd (A Wholly Owned Subsidiary of NABARD). The DDUGKY migration support centre is walk-in resource centre opened for the successful trainees of DDU-GKY, who are on placement away from their native places in search of better employment prospects. Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission has been working to reduce the vagaries associated with migration of the DDU-GKY youth in three ways by offering them suitable training opportunities, helping them prepare for employment away from home and by providing counseling and support services for a reasonable period of time which would enable them to adapt to a foreign environment. Migration Support Centres (MSCs) and Candidate Retention Support Unit (RSU) to be established at Guwahati, Assam is a further step in this direction. The migration Support Centre offers counseling, access to information, acclimatization support and targeted services to displaced workers. It’s services also include pre-migration preparatory support for both domestic and abroad placed candidates, post-placement counseling, registering migrant workers and undertaking periodic counseling, facilitate accommodation, undertaking qualitative research amongst candidates and employers as follow-up to post placement tracking, job retention and career progression counseling, facilitation for securing utility services, provide inter-department or inter-institution liaison support, providing support to workers in case of exigencies and work disputes etc.

Speaking on the occasion, the ArSRLM Chief Operating Officer (skills),  Ruzing Bellai has urge the youth to come forward to take the benefit of the placement linked skill development programme -DDU GKY and requested rural youth be pro-active role grab the opportunity without waiting for government job and to skill themselves.

NABCONS , Associate Consultant Dhiraj Sonowal inform about the role of MSC and RSU, highlighting the activities it would undertake for the trained candidates under DDU GKY of Arunachal Pradesh. The event was attended by representatives from NABCONS lead by NABCONS Sr. Consultant Raja Mithilesh was also attended by  Project Implementing Agencies(PIAs), DDU GKY officials, CTSA and TSA under ArSRLM.

Programme Manager(Finance),DDUGKY under ArSRLM Charu Okam and Programme Manager Nabam Ompi among others officers and officials were present during the signing of MoU.
