Banderdewa, On 5/12/2021, a dead body of a 70 year old woman who lived on the side of a shop in Banderdewa was found with head injury. She was apparently hit with a stone on the head which caused her death. On record of the FIR vide BDW/PS/C/No. 37/2021 U/s 302 IPC was regd. She was identified as Lt. Maga Yeja from Dokum Village Kamle. She has been living in Banderdewa since the last few years. Capital SP Jimmy Chiram informed through a release.
“Police officers visited, Postmortem conducted and stone used was also seized on 5/12/21. After scanning over 12 hours of CCTV camera footage of nearby areas and using local sources (as the CCTV footage was dark), the accused was identified.”, As per release.
On 11/12/2021 the alleged accused Vinod Bdr. Biswakarma -38 yrs s/o sh. Podom Bdr. Biswakarma, vill:- kathuni, P.O/P.S:- Harmoti/ Laluk, Dist:- N/ Lakhimpur, Assam has been arrested from Pitapool (Yazali) under Lower Subansiri Dist where he was hiding after committing the crime by a team comprising Insp. T.Hassang(IO/OC PS Bdw) , H/ct. S.K Jha, Ct. T. Bomdung, Ct. R. Tsering and Ct. J Koyu. Informed SP.
It has been revealed that the accused earlier worked as a help in the ironsmith shop next to the sleeping spot of the woman and he had argued with her. He apparently committed the crime while drunk. Later SP informed.
