Child Welfare Committee Bomdila Conducts Two-Day Awareness Campaign in West Kameng

Child Welfare Committee Bomdila, in collaboration with the district Child Protection Unit Bomdila, successfully conducted a comprehensive two-day awareness campaign in West Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh. The initiative aimed to educate and empower the community on child-related issues and the importance of safeguarding children from potential harm.

On the first day, Rinchin Megejee, protection officer of DCPU Bomdila, delivered an informative session on the crucial POCSO Act, highlighting the need for enhanced protection against sexual offenses. Tenzin Tsering and Ngawang shed light on the powers and functions of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), emphasizing its role in ensuring children’s well-being. Advocate Ajit Sasusow, a dedicated CWC member, focused on the NDPS Act and launched an Anti-Drug campaign, urging the community to combat drug abuse collectively.

The campaign extended to Government Middle School Lower Bhalukpong and Government Secondary School Bhalukpong in the Bhalukpong Block, where students actively participated in the interactive sessions. The Anganwadi members, Circle Officer, and Block Education Officer also joined forces to support the cause, reflecting the community’s commitment to protecting children’s rights and creating a safe environment for them to thrive.
