Dava India to open generic pharmacies in 23 district HQs

ITANAGAR, Sept 24: Dava India Generic Pharmacy, a division of Zota Health Care Limited, is planning to open Generic pharmacies in all the 23 district headquarters of the state to provide low cost medicines to the general public.

This was informed by Bijit Kumar Roy, Regional Sales Manager (RSM) of Dava India Generic Pharmacy who is on a two-day visit to ltanagar for inspection of the only Dava India Generic Pharmacy here in Arunachal Pradesh.

Zota Health Care Limited is a group of companies with 22 divisions, marketing for the last 35 years which is operating in 36 countries. Dava India is a pan India company, which deals with generic allopathic medicines, ayurvedic medicines. nutraceutical products, surgical and orthopedic support system, body and personal care and cosmetic items. The Cosmetics available are manufactured by Khadi & Gram Udyog, a Central government project.

In reply to a newsperson’s question as to why the cost of generic medicines were low, Roy explained, “It is a wrong concept of the general public that low cost medicines are of low quality, which is not true. The price charged by the generic company is the actual price involved in manufacturing of medicines which is the same for the branded medicines also. But the cost of branded medicine is high because of branding expenditure which is borne by the consumer.”
