Disaster management deptt release fund to DCs for payment to victims at district level

ITANAGAR, MARCH 31 : The disaster management department has release a fund of around Rs. 2 Crore to various deputy commissioner from state disaster response force (SDRF) fund to provide immediate relief and assistances to the victims of fire accident and damage of house, crops, livestock, fisheries etc due to natural calamities like flood, flash flood, landslide, earthquake, cyclone etc.

Speaking to media, the Disaster management Secretary Dani Salu inform that the respective deputy commissioner should have fund of at least Rs. 40 lakhs in their hands. For last two years we have ensured that the every DC should have an amount of Rs. 40 Lakhs at their disposal to use for immediate relief activities. If the destruction is beyond the district administration should send the proposal to the state government for further consideration and approval and sanction. He said.

We check the PFMS account of various distract and Based on the deposit the disaster management department has release fund to the district whose balance is below 40 Lakhs and as per approval thirteen district of state has been released fund as per balance amount.  Those district whose balance is above Rs. Lakhs has not bee given fund. He said.

Neural calamity cannot be stopped but we can remain safe and ales ensure that loss of life and property are less and it would only be possible if we remain alert and careful during summer. Do not construct below landslide area, do not occupy the river bed, remain away from vulnerable area, dangerous place. Switchover the light and place of fire, do not encourage hooking and illegal connection to avoid short circuit. We all have to careful and we can control our activities so that in most of the accident which may takes place but we can remain safe and secure and the extent of loss can be less. He said 

Referring the fire accident of Super market area of Naharlagun, the immediate relief are being given to the victim in form of cash and kind to help the victims. The fire victims were given with immediate relief and later the state government has also sanctioned the relief amount for disposal to the capital administration. The due amount of Rs. 33 lakhs was also approved and sanctioned and disposal to the capital administration for disposal to the victims. added Secretary Dani Salu. 

The highest is Rs. 33 lakhs to Capital complex followed by East Kameng, Lower Siang, Tirap, LOngding, Lohit, Lower Dibang valley and others. the Secretary Disaster management Dani Salu further said.
