Doimukh Police arrested 3 persons and recovered a huge quantity of cannabis (Ganja)

DOIMUKH, JULY 11 ; The Doimukh police of Papum Pare district has arrested three persons and recovered a huge quantity of cannabis (Ganja) from their possession and also seized two nos of two wheeler.

SDPO Doimukh Bomken Basar informed the media that on Sunday July 11 an information was received from a reliable source that a huge consignment of Ganja is arriving from Mengio in two motorcycles. Based on information the Papum Pare SP Dr. Neelam Nega immediately formed a team led by SDPO Doimukh Bomken Basar, Doimukh OC Inspector Inya Ete and SI Nabam Tate to take necessary action. He said.

The team laid a trap and followed the suspected bikes which led to the residence of one Chukhu Jibi at Yupia which was identified and located. He said.

A search was conducted in front of the Magistrate and independent witness at the residence of Chukhu Jibi and three bags of suspected Cannabis (Ganja) were recovered from the toilet of the house. The total weight of the Ganja is found to be 36.722 kg.

The two persons who brought the ganja from Mengio were identified as R. Kakum, 18 years, and T. Choya, 18 years old, both from the Mengio area. They are arrested along with Chukhu Jibi from whose residence ganja was recovered. The two bikes used by them are also seized. He said.

Preliminary investigation reveals that R. Kakum and T. Choya brought Ganja from Silsango, Mengio which was ordered by Chuku Jibi. Further investigation is being done to locate if any other persons are also involved from the Doimukh township area. SDPO said.
