ITANAGAR, AUGUST 13 ; The Heavy downpour for the last few days has created a massive landslide due to which the Pasighat-Pangin road has been blocked and would take more than a week to clear the debris and clear the traffic on the stretch. Informed sources from Pasighat.
The stretch of NH-13 (Pasighat-Pangin) at Sirki area near Pasighat has been washed away on Friday afternoon and the movement of traffic on the Pasighat-Pangin has been affected. Another road blockage has been reported from nearby Rottung village near Lelek block point in Siang district on the same highway. The sources said.
Meanwhile, East Siang Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kinny Singh in an order has cautioned the movement of traffic on the said stretch. The Deputy commissioner in an travel advisory has said that “ the route of Pasighat-Pangin road stretch at KM 4+100 ie, 2 KM before Sirki around 70-80 mtrs has been completely washed away due to incessant rainfall for the last few days”. To avoid any inconvenience, the general public are hereby advised to refrain from taking the above route and completely avoid travelling through these routes especially during night hours for next seven days. The DC said.
The Executive Engineer, PWD (Highway) Pasighat and NHIDCL General Manager has been directed to keep man and machinery 24×7 until full restoration work of the above route. DC added.
As per information received from Leparada district the road between Likabali-Basar has been badly affected due to landslides and road blockage. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded for hours together on Thursday night and Friday. Man and machine has been deployed to clear the blockage and open for vehicular movement. The sources are informed.
The BRO road between Yingkiong-Tuting has also been affected due to heavy downpour and massive landslides in several places. The BRO officials with machines have been deployed to clear the debris and slide through vehicular movement. The sources added.
