ITANAGAR, SEPT 1 : Heavy downpour have created huge loss of property, agriculture field and damaged several infrastructure in various parts of state including capital complex and adjoining area in Papum Pare district on Wednesday.
Reports has been received from various parts of capital complex of damaged caused due to heavy downpour and flash flood and triggered by landslide in upper ridge of urban and rural area of capital complex on Wednesday morning.
Reports received from Borum village said that several dwelling including RCC buildings and other has been submerged by the nearby Borum nallah which has been discharging a huge volume of rain water. As per information around 8 housed has been damaged and household property has been completely damaged.
Itanagar local MLA Techi Kaso and Naharlagun EAC LIkha Radh and other officers of the area immediately rushed to the Borum village and inspected the flood damaged area and take stock of the situation. Kaso also meet the villagers and locals and assure to take up the matter with the appropriate authority. The local MLA appeal the state government for construction of protection measure for protection of hundreds of locals residing in Borum village, Lekhi village area and also people living nearby the Pachin river in Naharlagun and NIrjuli area from the devastationg flood caused due to earth cutting at upper ridge of the all the nallah in the township area.
The Lower Borum Development committee (LBDC) Vice President LIkha Ekha has informed that a complain has been submitted to Capital Deputy Commissioner to take action against those who are responsible for obstructing the free flow of the natural nallah in the area. Ekha also appeal the administration and government to provide necessary support and help to the needy people of the area.
The Lekhi-III colony committee Chairman Kipa Kanam inform that the Jully nallah flooded with a huge volume of rain water has inundated several parts of the area at around 5 AM. It is a daily phenomenon during the rainy days. The mudslide and debris triggered due to earth cutting at the upper ridge of the nallah has caused life miseries of the locality residing on the bank of the Jully nallah in Lekhi-III area. Kanam said.
The link road of the Lekhi-III, Boundary wall of Chera Sanjiv resident around thrity metres boundary wall of Arunachal Law Academy has been collapsed, the destitute women and distress in child (mother home) eroded, Government women college has also been eroded. As per information eight family has-been badly effected in Lekhi-III area only. Kanam added.
He however appeal the disaster managing authority to provided support and help in the hour of crisis. He also appeal the Transport department and Urban Development department to immediately take up protection measured for protection of the Lekhi-III form the Jully nallah which is threatening the existence of the hundreds of resident in the vicinity of the NRISBT at Lekhi.
Report has also been received of damaged of road in various parts of Papum pare district and state. report of road blockage has been reported form Doimukh-Hoj road, Hoj-Potin road due to landslide and mudslide. However with the help of man and machine the huge debris were cleared and road was made through for vehicular traffic after few hours.
