ITANAGAR, Aug 27: The high level team led by Chief Secretary to discuss the issue of the Itanagar Traffic Warden (ITW) on August 30 at AP Civil Secretariat. Informed Capital Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom to the agitating ITW at IG Park on Friday evening and requested them to call off the ongoing dharna/protest.
The ITW has temporarily called off their Indefinite peaceful dharna after Itanagar Capital region, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Talo potom Visited and met the ITW at Dharna site. Earlier in the morning the capital ADC Talom Dupak has also met the agitating ITW and discussed the issue.
Requesting ITW to call off their indefinite peaceful dharna and resume their duty DC potom informed that state government has decided to hold a meeting on ITW demands under the chairmanship of chief secretary on 30th August next and during meeting officer from home department, DC ICR and representatives from ITW will present, he added.
The grievances of ITW in the form of a memorandum has been handed over to DC who will be placed in the said meeting on August 30. Potom said.
Speaking to the reporters, 4th batch of ITW Lomra Tapa said that due to communication gaps till today we could not able met government or representatives but today we able to met DC ICR Talo Potom with help of All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) president Byabang Joram and DC itself visited at Dharna site to met ITW and received our memorandum.
And as per requests of DC we have decided to call off our dharna temporarily and even resume our duty.
And If we fail to meet a positive response from the government on 30th August next meeting then we will again start our democratic movement. He added
The ITW is demanding that the state government induct the traffic wardens into the Itanagar traffic cell and regularize the jobs of the traffic wardens, as had been assured by the then principal home secretary
And With support of their two point demands they started their dharna from 23rd August last at Tennis court IG park.
