Husband convicted for killing his wife

KHONSA, Jun 09: The District and Sessions Court, Khonsa, today convicted one Harsingh Mura U/S 302 of IPC for the offence of murder and sentenced him to life imprisonment with a fine. Harsingh Mura the Gaoh Burah of Kherem Mura Village, Bordumsa, in the district of Changlang, suspected his wife, Bimla Mura, of having illicit relationships with other persons.

Owing to this suspicion in the intervening night of January 07 and 08, 2016, an altercation arose between Harsingh and his wife. He assaulted his wife with a wooden stool resulting in a fall. Thereafter, he took out a machete dao) and inflicted several injuries on her face and head causing fracture of the skull resulting in sub-Dural and intra-cranial hematoma. Bimla Mura died on the spot.

Harsingh covered her body with a blanket and fled from his house. Their daughter found the dead body of in the next morning and their son lodged an FIR. Harsingh absconded for about a month till he was arrested by police.
Inspector C Longri of Bordumsa, Police Station, initiated the investigation and SI R Borang has submitted the chargesheet against Harsingh Murah. Since, there is a restricted Court functioning in view of Covid-19, the District and Sessions Judge, H Kashyap, pronounced the judgment through virtual court, today.
