International Women’s Day celebrated at Sagalee

Sagalee, March 08: The International Women’s Day was celebrated at Sagalee organized by Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society of Sagalee Unit in collaboration with the Self Help Groups of Sagalee under the theme: Gender Equality Today For Sustainable Tomorrow.

Former Chief Minister and Sagalee MLA and APCC President Nabam Tuki graced the celebration as the Chief Guest, beside the Circle Officer of Sagalee Ms. Khoda Oniya attended the celebration of the Day as the Guest of Honour and Bengia Dipti Tadar as the resource person.

Host of Congress leaders from APCC, elected panchayat leaders under Sagalee Constituency, various Self Help Groups under APSRLM too attended and witnessed the celebration.

About 1500 women coming from the entire Sagalee Constituency attended the Celebration of the Day.

Earlier in the morning there was a mass procession with various placards and slogans on women empowerment, Rights and Equalities.

Under 33% women reservation, all the elected Mahila Panchayat leaders under 15th Sagalee Constituency were felicitated according to the Blockwise.
