IPS Mari Riba passed away, last rite to be held at Likabali, Rijiju, Khandu, Mein, Felix condole the demise

ITANAGAR, AUG 27 : Mari Riba, born on 6th March 1965, an Indian Police service (IPS) officer and a senior police officer form Arunachal Pradesh posted as Inspector general of police (IGP) Central Range, Pasighat passed away on Sunday morning. 

Mari Riba a 2004 SPS batch officer, an efficient police officers joined the Arunachal Pradesh police in year 1992 has serve the state in various post in various districts  Lower Subansiri, Upper Subansiri, East Siang, West Siang, Yupia, he also worked as DIGP Eastern range, DIGP (Int) and was DIGP Central Range form 2021 tot ill date. He also worked at PTC, 2nd APP Bn, Vigilance at AP Secretariat.

Late Riba was post graduated in History was an experienced and active officer among the police officers and recipient of several appreciation letter, certificate, medals and award during his service period in various parts of state by state government, NGOs and even by central government. He was also recreant of President Police medal for meritorious services on independence day 2020

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has condole the tragic Demise of IGP Mari Riba. In a condolence message Khandu has  expressed his deep sorrow over the untimely demise. The dedicated officer’s contributions to policing reforms were acknowledged as a lasting legacy. Said Khandu. 

IGP Mari Riba’s passing has left a void in the law enforcement community and beyond. Known for his commitment to improving policing systems, his efforts will be fondly remembered. Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s poignant words captured the sentiment of the loss, saying, “I am deeply pained by the untimely death of IGP Mari Riba, IPS. Riba’s contributions to policing reforms shall always be remembered.”

In this difficult moment, Chief Minister Khandu extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. He expressed his hope that Riba’s soul finds peace through the blessings of Lord Buddha.

The untimely demise of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mari Riba, IPS, has not only saddened the Chief Minister but also drawn words of tribute from the Home and Border Affairs Minister, Bamang Felix.

Minister Felix expressed his deep condolences to the family of the late IGP and acknowledged his significant contributions to policing reforms. “IGP Shri Mari Riba’s dedication to improving our law enforcement framework was commendable. His loss is deeply felt by the entire state,” Minister Felix stated.

Condoling the untimely demise of senior police officer, Union Minister for earth science Kiren Rijiju who visited the residence of Late Mari Riba at Likabali Lower Siang and paid floral tribute and deep condolences to the bereaved family and pray for departed soul to rest in heavenly abode. 

In a social media post, Rijiju said that “ I am deeply saddened by the untimely demise of IGP Mari Riba, IPS. He has sincerely served Arunachal Pradesh with outmost dedication. He said.

I paid my homage and condolences at his native home at Likabali. He said.

I pray to god for enough strength to his family to bear the tragedy. May his soul rest in peace. Added Union Minister Rijiju.

MLA Kardo Nyigyor, Ninong Ering, Kento Rina, IGP Apur Bitin and several senior member of society and leaders of various party and organization has paid visit and paid tribute and condolences.

Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowan Mein has join the condoling the untimely demise of the senior police officer, in a condolence message the Dy. CM Mein said that “ Deeply sadden to learn the passing away of IGP Mari Riba. He was a honest officer who serve the people of Arunachal Pradesh with outmost sincerity and dedication. His contribution to the state police force will always be remembered. Said Mein.

The sources inform that the last rite and funeral service will be held at his native residence at Likabali from where in people from all walk of life including civil and police services and leaders,  family members, relatives, well wishers and friends are expected to take part.
