JACPDF on recruitment of GRamin Dak sevak sought Chief minister Pema Khandu intervention

ITANAGAR, Nov 24: The Joint Action Committee for the Postal Department Fiasco (JACPDF) has reiterated its demand for recommending incorporation of local dialects of state’s 26 major tribes, alongside Hindi and English, as official languages in the recruitment of Gramin Dak Sevaks in the Postal Department which is one of the mandatory requirement as stated by the postal department earlier.

The JACPDF Convener Raj Pao while addressing the newsperson in a press conference here Friday has reiterated the demand for the benefits of locals educated and unemployed youths of state which he terms has not been beneficial till date by the postal department inspite of several democratic movements.

He expressed disappointment with the Chief Minister for not responding to its repeated appeal. “All the officers including those in the Postal Department were supporting and giving suggestions but our State Government is not ready to listen to the grievances and not thinking about the welfare of the unemployed youths of the state,” He added.

The other demand of the JACPDF is recommendation of domicile certificates in the recruitment process in the appointment of 2596 GDS posts for the state.

Informing about the notification from the Ministry of Communications which states that there is no mandatory recommendation of certificates from the GBs or Panchayat leaders for the posts of GDSs, Pao said that the notification itself is discriminatory for the indigenous people of the state. He urged the district level committee members to take initiative in the matter.

“We, the committee, are fighting for the welfare of the state and its youth but we are very much with the displeasure on the attitude of the State Government is dealing the matter. The state government is not listening to our appeal. If the government continues to ignore our two-point memorandum we will be compelled to choose other mode of democratic movement,”

Since the matter is getting old and no proper action has been initiated by the state government and after several democratic movement around 500 person has been appointed but if the state government listen to the genuine grievances the local educated and unemployed youths of state can also anvil the befits as hundreds of post are still remain vacant.
