Joint Tree Plantation Initiative by D/138 Battalion CRPF and Sports Authority of India Training Center, Naharlagun

Naharlagun, July 05: Today a tree plantation campaign was carried out at the Sports Authority of India Training Center in Naharlagun, in collaboration with the D/138 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Under the guidance of Commandant Rajendar Kumar, the D Company of the battalion actively participated in the campaign, which involved extensive tree plantation within and around the training center premises.

Local nurseries and the Forest Department provided a significant number of saplings, which were planted during the initiative. The local community was also sensitized about the importance of tree plantation and educated on the significant impact trees have on human life. They were informed about the necessity of trees in human existence and how they contribute effectively to our lives.

The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of officers, including the Commanding Inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force, Vikrant Singh, and other senior officials, along with the presence of trainee officers and personnel. Additionally, Inkamla Nyomai, the in-charge of the Sports Authority of India Training Center, Golden Thanga, the weightlifting coach, and the entire staff and trainees of the training center actively took part in the tree plantation campaign.

Approximately 500 saplings were planted during the campaign, and the Chief of the training center highlighted the collective responsibility of nurturing and caring for these plants. He emphasized that such initiatives would continue in the future, ensuring timely tree plantation activities.

This joint effort by the D/138 Battalion CRPF and the Sports Authority of India Training Center not only aimed at environmental conservation but also encouraged awareness and active participation in tree plantation for a greener and healthier future.
