YACHULI, DEC 15 ; The North Eastern regional institute of science & technology (NERIST) Registrar M K Camdir on Friday has appeal the youths to maintain physical fitness with a good health and sound mind and also avail the benefit of sports quota through games and sports.
Camdir was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 2nd edition of Late Mai That camdir memorial football and volleyball tournament here at Mai village in Yachuli circle of Lower Subansiri district. It is a happy moment that our youths have keen interest in games and sports and it will help them to maintain a good health and physical fitness. He emphasis that one should take the sports as a career and avail the benefit of the government. He added.
He also dedicated a big playground at Mai village to the general public of which the land was donated by him and it was developed through the MPLADF of MP Kiren Rijiju.
Social worker Mai Aram Camdir who sponsored the tournament said that our youth are the backbone of the society and I have tried to motivate the youth power for good works. Games and sports is a best way to enhance the longevity of life if one maintain a good health and physical fitness and through which many disease get away. He said.
A total of 6 teams of man and women are taking part and today is the inaugural day and the final matches will be played on December 21st followed by closing ceremony. He said.
Since these are celebration month and being the ending month of the year where several celebration like Chrisman and new year are being celebrated so it is my appeal to the youths to enjoy the charismas and new year celebration with true spirit. He added.
We are also celebrating 35th Christmas celebration of Mai Baptist church and appeal all to join the celebration for a happy, peace and prosperous new year 2024.
Organising Chairman Ha Tai, Organising Secretary Likah Loma also address the function.
The opening match was played between Nyuch Vrs Roman catholic church and the match was won by Roman catholic church.
