Obom Tangu wins Arunachal Idol Season-5

TAWANG, MARCH 27 ; Winning or losing is part of game but most important is the participation in any event including games and sport and cultural competition and bring name, fame and laurel for state and country. said Union Minister of Law & Justice Kiren Rijiju

Rijiju was addressing the grand finale of Arunachal Idol Season-5 here at general ground Tawang. He said that winners are judged by their performances and the performances of all the artists and participants were good. It is good to see that our artists are now coming up in all the fields. There is no dearth of talent in our youths and all have to take part in their respective interested field and hope that the enthusiasm and passion of our youths will go a long way in competing with the artists of other states and countries of the world. Said Rijiju.

He thanked the organizers including the chairman, Managing director and all the team and all those who have supported the event a grand success outside the state capital and soon all such organizations would do their event in different parts of state to promote pan Arunachal concept. Rijiju said.

The talent hunt shows in the state are getting popular these days and are becoming popular only due to active participation of our youths and urge upon the youths to take part in respective fields of interest to become a role model for the society and state. he said.

He assured to discuss for providing sponsorship of such mega event with state government and other level, he also thanks all those who has supported for successful for such event including the local leaders, judges, media, indigenous leaders, administration and state government. 

Guest of honour, Member of Parliament (Arunachal East) Tapir Gao in his address said that it is a mega event organized by such a talent show in Tawang and such an event has given us morals and we have to learn from such an event when the mega event held outside state capital. It is  a happy moment that the people of Tawang in large numbers have come out to witness the event in spite of child weather and thanks the people of Tawang for supporting the event for successful. He said.

Today youths has lots to do and shoulder responsibility and urge upon the youths to take part in all events in respective field and also carry forward our rich traditional culture and ethos of society to a great height. Gao added.

Gao further motivated the youths and wish the youths of state shine in world arena in respective field. 

Chief Minister and Chief Patron of Arunachal Idol Pema Khandu in his address said that the state government is doing all its effort for promotion of youths of state in all fields so that our youths compete in all respective field at national and international level and bring name, fame and laurel for state and country. Khandu said.

The youth of the state have a huge potential in all fields, the state government is trying its best effort to give a better platform for the youths. There are several platforms to showcase the talent in the state like of Arunachal Idol, Miss Arunachal, Mr Arunachal, Arunachal got talent and the state government has declared the state event. The Arunachal Idol Season 5 is amazing and becoming no 1 choice of the youths to exhibit the talent. He said.

Referring to a two point memorandum submitted by the Arunachal Idol team, Khandu said that the state government will soon the memorandum of understanding (MOU) will be strengthened and the grant in aid for such an event will be increased from this year.  Grant in aid for establishment of music academy will be examined by the Youth Affairs Minister and the state government will take a decision. The Chief Minister said.

He thanks all people who has extended support and cooperation for successful of the event. he said,

Terming the youths as the future of state and country, Khandu appealed to the youths to shoulder responsibility for a better and a vibrant state for its peace, progress and development.  

Arunachal Idol Chairman Malla Attu speaking to the media said that we are excited that our hard labour has shown the colour, the grand finale has been done in fair manner and the judges and the public voting has decided the winner. The performances were held in best management done here at Tawang. He said. 

There were top five contestants out of a total two thousand entries during the Covid pandemic and after several rounds of performances who showed their hidden talents at Tawang general ground in front of thousands people. It was a gear event for us because the mega event of Season-5 of Arunachal Idol was held outside the state capital.  

We have got lots of experience by organizing the event outside the state capital and it will go a long way to boost up the morale of the state artist in the long run. He added.

Managing Director Tana Disem said that organising the event in different places is promoting the pan Arunachal concept.

Rajya Sabha MP from West Bengal Nadimul Haque, Minister Sports & Youth Affairs and Patron of Arunachal Idol Mama Natung attended the function as special guest. 

Several lawmakers, bureaucrats, technocrats, civil, military and police officers, PRI leaders, businessmen, public and social leaders and the general public attended the function and witnessed the talent show which continued till late night. 

The five top contestant which include Temba Dorjee, Radhe Yabang Millo, Dhamchin Norbu, Teli Menia and Obom Tangu perform their talent in the grand finale in traditional round and bollywood round and  Obom Tangu declared the winner, Damchin Norbu become the first runner-up, Temba Dorjee declared at 2nd runner-up Teli Menia at 3rd runner-up and Radhe Yabiang Millo remains at 4th runner-up who were given away with the title award, certificate and cash award by the dignitaries.   

Dambi Jini, Carolina Norbu, Thupten Tsering, Mibi Nyodu Taring and Nokngam Lukham performed as judges on the occasion. 

The dignitaries felicitated and awarded several youth icons, social workers and achievers in various fields of art, culture, social welfare activities, music, film, dance, drama etc.
