Portion of boundary wall of under construction Greenfield airport collapsed

HOLLONGI, Jun 14: A portion of wall measuring around 10 metres collapsed here at green field airport site. According to an official the damage was caused due to heavy rainfall which led to soil erosion. The earth cutting in the nearby area followed by rainfall caused accumulation of soil near the boundary wall which was recently constructed.

“We have learnt a lesson from it and will undertake necessary rectification,” said an official. Meanwhile a team of officials led by additional deputy commissioner of Balijan Tasso Gambo visited the damaged site on Monday. Talking to the media the ADC informed he has directed PWD to conduct necessary corrections and make further study to understand the cause of the incident.

The locals have alleged that due to unplanned construction of the wall it has damaged the road and agricultural land.

However, sources informed that such damage has taken place in two different locations toward Kokila village side.
