Regional committee of interstate boundary committee of Biswanath and Papum pare carried out inspection in Tarasso circle

TARASO, SEP 01:The regional committee of Biswanath district (Assam) and Papum Pare  district (Arunachal Pradesh) on Thursday carried out a spot verification of boundary dispute areas at Taraso under Papum Pare district.

There are 10 villages which include  Radaso, Meteka, Upper Taraso, Lower Taraso, Ania Hapa, Bormai, Dariabil, Kuchubari, Dolung Ramgat and Townbill which shares a boundary with Biswanath district of Assam were inspected.

The Arunachal committee led by Education and cultural affairs Minister Taba Tedir, Doimukh MLA Tana Hali Tara, DC Sachin Rana, SP Neelam Nega and Minister Health & Family Welfare (H & FW) Keshab Mahanta, Behali MLA Ranjit Dutta and Biswanath MLA Pramod Borthakur with Biswanath DC Munindra Nath Anghte, SP Nevin Singh, Assam Commissioner & Secretary  Health  of Assam discussed the issues pertaining to the inter-state boundary at Government Secondary School Taraso.

The Assam & Arunachal Pradesh boundary is an old and long pending issue which needs to be resolved, said Tedir.

Since the both state’s  chief minister Pema Khandu and Himanta Biswa Sarma have adopted a resolution at Namsai declaration to resolve the issue, it would be solved  at the earliest, he added.

” We are giving our best effort to resolve the issues and for which the both states have decided, ” Said Tedir.

As there are 2-3 villages which needs proper verification before compilation of final report which will be submitted to respective stye government, both the minister has directed Behali MLA and Doimukh MLA to conduct a re-verification on 4th September along with DCs and DFOs, who would be submitting the report to the committee before expiry of frame time on 15 September next.

“We are confident that the areas where the issue could not be resolved would be taken up by the assigned officers judiciously, ” said Mahanta.

Considering the seriousness of the issues,  both the minister and accompanied MLAs also express their willingness to resolve the matter amicably for the greater interest of local people of both sides. We have also interacted with the locals, GBs, public leaders and panchayat leaders. He said.

On the other hand, both the state’s representatives will be conducting a spot verification on 2th September at Passo, Dipik, Dikalmukh and Baliso under Pakke-Kessang district which shares a boundary with Biswanath district.
