Satish Golcha takes over as new DGP of Arunachal Pradesh

ITANAGAR, Feb 15: Senior IPS officer Satish Golcha took over as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Arunachal Pradesh.

“In a formal ceremony, Sh Satish Golcha, IPS, took over as the new DGP of the State of Arunachal Pradesh, today, with a promise to uphold the ideals of selfless service and public welfare, and to guide APP to new heights,” Arunachal Pradesh Police said on its Twitter handle on Tuesday.

Golcha, a 1992 IPS batch officer of the Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre, has replaced IPS officer RP Upadhyaya, who has been transferred to Delhi.

Earlier, Satish Golcha was posted in many important positions in Delhi Police.

He earlier served as Special Commissioner of Delhi Police, Southern Zone and Special Commissioner of Police, Crime and Economic Offences Wing, Delhi Police.

Golcha’s predecessor RP Upadhyaya took charge as the DGP of Arunachal Pradesh in July 2019 from SBK Singh, who was transferred to Mizoram.
