ITANAGAR, June 29: In order to review the progress of roads under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojnana (PMGSY) under Shi-Yomi district, State Legislative Assembly Speaker P D Sona on Tuesday held a meeting with the officers and contractors of ARRDA, RWD in the Speaker’s Conference Hall, Itanagar here.
Chairing the meeting, Sona, who represents Shi-Yomi district as MLA, expressed serious concern over the sheer delay in construction works and urged upon the department and contractors for timely completion of the project while maintaining the quality of work.
Altogether 9 PMGSY roads and 2 long span bridges are being undertaken by the RWD in Shi-Yomi district.
Assuring to extend all help from his side including local issues if any, the Speaker requested the contractors to let him know if there is any problem which he can help or resolve.
“Our only concern and priority is timely completion of projects. I called this meeting to discuss issues pertaining to PMGSY roads in the district and a way forward for timely completion of the same,” the Speaker said.
The contractors while sharing their grievances and challenges, requested the Speaker for his intervention as and when any local issue arises out. They also sought cooperation from the department officers for smooth execution of work in the border district.
Secretary, Chief Engineer and SE RWD also shared their views and ideas and called for timely completion of projects.
Earlier, Executive Engineer RWD Mechukha through a PowerPoint presentation briefed about the progress of PMGSY roads in the district.
