KIMIN, SEP 02:The inter-State Boundary dispute Regional Committee of Lakhimpur district (Assam) and Papumpare district (Arunachal Pradesh) on Saturday carried out a spot verification of boundary dispute areas at Gumto & Kimin circle under Papumpare district and few parts of Bihpuria and Nboisa circles.
The committee headed by Education, cultural affairs and DIA minister Taba Tedir and Doimukh MLA Tana Hali Tara of Arunachal and Health & family welfare minister Keshab Mahanta (Assam) along with DFOs, SPs and DCs, ADCs, COs of both the states visited villages such at Gumto I & II, Bogoli, Denka of Gumto circle and Buka of Kimin circle which shares a boundary with North Lakhimpur district of Assam.
The Assam and Arunachal’s chief minister Pema Khandu and Himanta Biswa Sarma has decided to resolved the both state’s disputed areas by restricting 123 villages to 86, and on the direction of both Chief Minister the regional committee was formed an all twelve district and carrying out ground work with physical verification and interacton of the locals residing on both side of the interstate boundary.said minister Tedir.
Based on the report of regional committee the both state government would be solving the boundary issues which could not be resolved for many decades, he added.
Stating Lakhimpur and Papumpare district have 31 villages that shares boundary with each other, Tedir and Hamanta appealed to the local people of both the states to maintain cordial relationship till matter is not resolved.
It is only for the welfare of both side’s local people that CM of Assam & Arunachal Pradesh had met for a meeting on 24 January and 20 April and July 15, said Tedir.
Citing the past instances of Assam – Arunachal boundary dispute of Tarasso, Doimukh MLA Tana Hali Tara appealed both the state’s government to resolve the issues once and for all and request the administrative officers of both district not to create any problems till the boundary issues are not resolved.
The boundary dispute once resolved will pave the way for development on both side by the successive state government. Said Hali
As the committee could not visit the village Lora I & II in Kimin circle due to inclement weather, the same will be covered after 10th Session of 7th Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly scheduled on 6-8 September onward and Assam’s Autumn Assembly Session that expected from 12 September next, the Doimukh MLA added.
Earlier, the Committee also interacted with the both end’s local people and assured to bring amicable solutions to the boundary issues. The Mahanta and Tedir also interacted the local publice, PRI leaders, village elders and listen to the problems of the areas.
