Yupia, The two-day trekking expedition programme from Taa Shi to Budum Langne (snake stone) situated under Toru circle, Sagalee sub-division , located at 932 meters above sea level in the midst of Horro thorney hill which was flagged off by local MLA-15 Sagalee AC and former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, at TAASHI (the original village of Tai Bida) concluded successfully on 29/12/2021.
The Trekking was led by Nabam Rebia, Honorable MP (RS) and participated among others were Taba Rama (ZPM Toru), Dr. Anshu Jamsenpa, Tagit Sorang, Tame Bagang (Evresters), Dr. B B Bath (Research Scholar), Dr.R.K Taj (Scientist ), Tana Tapi, Deputy WildLife Warden, Yang Siram, CO Toru , Sorang Taniya ZPM , D. Tadi Mra Famous Youtuber, Teshi Soni, President BJP Papumpare District, DTO (Tourism) T.Rigia and host of enthusiastic young trekkers.
The Trekking started from “Tangar Yarne” at Kheel and reached Budum Langney at around 3.00 pm on 28 -12-2021.The Trekkers had a night halt at Budum Langney Camp and later Trekked down for the base camp in Satang Village next morning.Finally, the trekkers reached base camp at around 2.00 pm on 29 – 12- 2021.
Later, a trekkers base camp at Satang village was inaugurated by Nabam Rebia MP (RS) in presence of his entourage members. Rebia who is also an avid nature lover strongly advocated for preservation of wildlife and environment in the state. The MP assured and agreed to facilitate funds for construction of Trekking Route from Kheel to Satang via Budum Langney, Rest house at Tasi with fencing around footprints and CC Steps, Fencing to protect Budum Langney and furnishing of trekkers base camp at Satang village. To the much applause of the people of Sattang village, Shri Rebia also suggested that the trekkers base camp should be named after Late Taba Rayo HGB of Sattang village. He also proposed for creation of a Community Reserved Forest in Budum Langne area.
All the prominent members present on the occasion shared their experiences and spoke at length on preservation of Wildlife and promotion of ECO – Tourism in the region.
The motive of the trekking was to educate the people about the mythology of Tai Bida, founder of Ganga lake (Gekar sinyi) Itanagar. He was a legendary figure in the Nyishi community. The footprints of Tai Bida is still visible with hole where Balang Budum-a kind of snake-appeared before Tai Bida as a symbol of his downfall while famous Ganga Lake (Gekar Sinyi) in Itanagar is also associated with Tai Bida.
The Trekking programme was organized by John Panye CMD, Tribal Adventure Tours in collaboration with the District Administration of Papumpare. The program was documented by Himalayan watchdog and host of media persons. The hospitalities of the trekking was managed by Nabam Tariang GPM Satang village.
During the interactions for formulating strategies to opening up this Taasi-Budum Langney-Gekar Sinyik trekking route many experts and professionals put forward ideas and suggestion. Dr Anshu Jamsenpa the world record holder Everester stressed for maintaining hospitality attitude to attract tourists and also strictly maintain cleanliness in our surroundings as well as in the tourist interest places. John Panye President of APTOA as well as MD of Tribal Adventure Tours who is promoting various tourist interest destinations, particularly Papum Pare District is undertaking to document all the tourist interest places of the district including the famous Tei Bida historical Budum Langney Trekking circuit. He strongly emphasised for collective role and responsibilities of the elected leaders like MP, MLA, Panchayat , GBs and the publics for conservation, preservation and promotion of the areas for sustainable growth of tourism.
The local tour operators along with the tourism department is undertaking promotion and showcasing the tourism products to the outside world. As now many tourists are seeking Arunachal Pradesh as a hot destination, all the stakeholders should prepare roadmap to invite the visitors to various circuits. The Budum Langney trekking circuit is a good trekking route for all categories of people which is nearest to capital complex.
