The 43rd Annual College Day Celebration 2023 concluded in the evening hour of 18th November 2023 with a glittering Valedictory Function at Jubilee Hall, Dera Natung Govt. College, Itanagar which was graced by Alo Libang, Minister, Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh and Techi Kaso, MLA, Itanagar as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively. Techi Mema, Corporator, IMC Ward No. 4 and Dr. N. T. Rikam, Registrar, RGU attended the programme as special invitees.
Dr. M. Q. Khan, while delivering welcome speech briefed about the various events unfolded during the last three days calling the annual college day celebration as the great platform for the students to showcase their talents in literary, cultural and games & sports fields. He congratulated the winners for their marvelous achievement. And on the other hand, consoled and encouraged the students who couldn’t make it to the winners’ list and advised them to do better next time.
Techi Tado Tara, General Secretary, DNGSU, submitted two memorandums to both Chief Guest and Guest of Honour. Firstly, he submitted two-point memorandum to Shri Alo Libang, Hon’ble Minister, Health and Family Welfare for construction of two galleries for audience in the playground of the college and construction of 4 numbers of Type IV Quarters for the faculty members of the college. Secondly, he submitted a one-point memorandum to Techi Kaso, MLA, Itanagar for repairing of internal road and installation of street solar lamps in and around the college campus.
Techi Kaso, while speaking as the Guest of Honour, advised students to go for quality education. While sharing general wisdom on the importance of success in life, he advised students to be honest and strive for the best while focusing on quality, not quantity, in various endeavours ahead in life. While responding to a one-point memorandum for repairing internal roads and installation of street solar lamps, he has assured of keeping those in his top-priority list. He expressed his happiness in meeting the earlier promises of construction and repairing of approach roads of both DNGC and RGGPI.
Alo Libang, while speaking as Chief Guest of the event, congratulated the entire college fraternity for successful conduction of the 43rd Annual College Day Celebration in such a colourful and grand manner. He lauded students for their wholehearted participation and congratulated the winners while remarking that winners don’t do different things but do things differently. On the other hand, he reiterated that losing is also an important part of winning because without losing, one cannot value the winning. While recollecting and sharing those golden moments of his school and college life, he asked students to use college life to build the foundation for a better and successful life going forward to serve the state in various capacities. He appreciated the initiative of presenting flowerpots with plants in place of bouquet as a presentation to invited guests as very unique, thoughtful and good gesture especially when the world is reeling under global warming. Further, he appreciated various cultural items presented during the events for being sensible and creating awareness on important issues happening around the world like Manipur crisis and etc.
Earlier, the cultural night was inaugurated on the evening of 15th November 2023, which was graced by Shri Laisam Simai, MLA, Nampong and Shri Tate Tayam, IPR Secretary, APSU as Chief Guest and Special Guest respectively. The evening witnessed very competitive cultural items which mesmerized the guests and audience alike. The special attraction of cultural night on 16th November 2023 was Fashion Show Contest for Mr. & Miss DNGC 2023. Out of total 10 selected contestants for both Mr. & Miss DNGC separately, Mr. Runka Effa of BA 5th Sem and Miss Habu Yapak of B.Com 5th Sem were adjudged as Mr. & Miss DNGC 2023 respectively. The evening was graced by Gabriel D. Wangsu, MLA, Kanubari and Shri Gumjum Haider, State Information Commissioner, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively. Miss Techi Tannu, Convenor, Women Cell, APSU witnessed the night as special guest.
The 43rd Annual College Day Celebration 2023 witnessed literary, cultural and games & sports competition which were participated and competed by four houses namely Gorichen, Kelingon, Khyarisatam and Piji House, named after important mountain peaks of Arunachal Pradesh. The four houses competed in literary events like Quiz competition, Essay Writing Competition, Painting, Cartooning, Extempore Speech, Debate and Poem Recitation Competitions; in games & sports competition, shot-put, discuss throw, javelin throw, running race, table tennis, badminton, football, volleyball and Tug-of-War etc were added; and in the cultural competition, the items like Group Song, Duet Dance, Group Dance (free-style), Conceptual Dance, Group Dance (folk), Solo Song etc were competed. And finally, Gorichen House emerged as the Champion House of the 43rd Annual College Day Celebration 2023 and the great event folded with reverberation of euphoric chanting of the Champion House.
