Windstorm snapped power supply in Lohit, Township was in complete blackout but partially restored today

TEZU, April 16: Rain thunder followed by a windstorm lashed Lohit district leaving behind a trail of devastation in the daytime of 15th April. While electric supply has been completely snapped in the Tezu – Sunpura areas, roofs of several houses are reported to be damaged and trees uprooted in various pockets in the district. With this breakdown the entire township plunged into blackout.  But the speedy restoration work initiated by the power department on war footing partially restored the power scenario. 

“The worst affected are both HT and LT lines at SE PWD complex, Hucheliang and Khoraliang and Demwe areas are equally reported heavy damages including other pockets till last report received. This time the quanta of damages of 11 KV lines are grave, we are putting our all effort to restore the supply if good weather support”, informs J Chai Kri AE Power.

NH – 13 and roads to Loiliang and Shivaji nagar were closed due to uprooted and broken tree obstacles.

Meanwhile, Karikho Kri local MLA also visited the various locations to monitor the situation and supervise restoration work.
