World Consumer Rights Day 2023 observed with the theme empowering consumer through  “Clean energy transition”

Naharlagun 15 March: The Deptt. of Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, C- Sector, Naharlagun Celebrated  World Consumer Rights Day 2023 at Department Headquarters,   C-sector Naharlagun today. 

A designed department vehicle was flagged off from the office Headquarters by the Controller, Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs. A brief program was held in the office campus where Debia Tana, ACLM (Enf.) addressed the various aims/objectives of the department. A brief words of suggestion was given by K.P Tago, Rtd. ACLM regarding the function of the department to motivate the current publicity team. The program was concluded with some words of wisdom from Hoktum Ori, the Controller –cum- Director, LM&CA, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh. 

Minte Siga, Deputy Controller briefed upon Consumer Protection Act’ 2019   about the theme to empower through  “clean energy transition.” and also briefed to file consumer complaints online through https:://e-daakhil.nic.in  as it is the opportunity for consumers to avail its rights and responsibilities  as per provision Consumer Protection Act ‘2019.

Debia Tana, Asstt. Controller briefed practices of weight and Measures & weighing and measuring instruments in delivery of commodities, he asked the Consumer to be careful and alert at the time of transaction so that accurate quantity as paid for is delivered. About the Consumer rights and the consumer disputes redressal mechanism. He explained in brief how and where to file consumer complaints. Also online Toll-Free helpline no. 1800-345-3601 can be used for filing complaints.

Sangio Toru, DA (P&P) also briefed on product standardization and product imitation respectively.
