Nipjyoti Kalita || Naharlagun, Jul 14: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arunachal Pradesh president Yamra Taya today said AAP is planning to field candidates in all 60 Assembly constituencies and two Lok Sabha seats in Arunachal Pradesh during the upcoming general elections 2024.
Speaking to the media during the inauguration of the party’s new office premises at Papu Nallah in Naharlagun, Taya stated that if the AAP were to come to power in the northeastern State in 2024, they would be dedicated to providing various benefits to the citizens. These include free water, electricity, medical facilities up to Rs 10 lakh, and world-class education.
Furthermore, Taya emphasized that if elected, the AAP would repeal two ‘controversial’ Acts. These Acts are the Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act [APUAPA] of 2014 and the Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act of 1978.
During the inauguration ceremony, Tana Tamar Tara, the president of the Chatr-Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS) Arunachal Pradesh, was also present.
Taya informed the audience that the people of the 48-Lekang constituency had appealed to Tana Tamar Tara through social media to participate in the general elections from their constituency. In response, the AAP requested Tamar to run as a candidate in the upcoming elections from that particular constituency.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of several AAP leaders, who showed their support for the party’s endeavours.With AAP’s ambitious plans to contest all 60 Assembly seats and two Lok Sabha constituencies in Arunachal Pradesh, the upcoming general elections are anticipated to witness an intense political battle in the State.
