Roing, Aug 7: The representatives from All Idu-Mishmi Students Union (AIMSU) met Education Minister, Taba Tedir who is on an official tour to Roing and submitted a memorandum seeking his intervention in addressing various problems affecting the teaching-learning process in the district on Saturday.
This was informed by AIMSU, Convenor, Litu Dele while interacting with this reporter.
To initiate action against encroachers of Government Higher Secondary school premises in Anini , posting of adequate subject teachers such as music teacher, librarian, Physical Education Teacher (PET) at Government higher School Roing and Anini, introduction of commerce and science streams, to increase the bed capacity of boys hostel etc were few demands made by the union.
“The case of encroachment of Government Higher Secondary, Anini is old and then DC had put it before the higher authorities, but no action has been initiated to stop the encroachment,” Dele lamanted.
He said that due to shortage of subject teachers in Roing Higher Secondary Schools, the smooth delivery of quality education to the students is being hampered presently.
He further expressed hope that not only the issue of encroachment of school land and the problems of the subject teacher, the education minister will also look into other basic needs such as infrastructure, and other issues.
Meanwhile, the Education Minister has requested all the heads of School, DDSE and district administration to immediately process for proper demarcation and process the case for issue of LPC or Land allotment as deemed fit.
He also directed the head of educational institutions to maintain close touch with district administrators with regard to official documents of respective schools.
Dambuk MLA Gum Tayeng, Roing MLA Mutchu Mithi, Deputy Commissioner KN Damo, SP JK lego among others were present during the meeting of student union with the Education Minister at Roing circuit house on Saturday.
