Alumnus of GHSS,Hija donated Rs.6,10,000.00 as a part of their “pay back to school mission”

Hija, The Alumnus of Government Higher Secondary school,Hija  donated Rs.6,10,000.00  as a part of their “pay back to school mission” for procurement of computer sets, generator, internet connectivity to their alma mater on Thursday at Government Higher Secondary school Hija campus.

The amount was received by Minister Education, Cultural and Indigenous Affairs Er.Taba Tedir in the presence of Minister Agriculture Horticulture and allied departments Er.Tage Taki, Minister Health, SJETA and Family Welfare Alo Libang , former Minister Padi Richo and Deputy Commissioner Somcha Lowang and DDSE Tabia Chobin.

The Education Minister asked the alumni present on the occasion to form a formal  alumni association of the school.

Citing the examples of alumni associations of Govt.secondary school Balek and Lummer Dai government school of East Siang where the alumni association raised funds amounting to 76 lakhs and 30lakhs respectively, facelifting the entire school. He  encouraged the members present to emulate such practices.

Responding to the memorandum submitted by the School Management Committee and Hija Employees welfare association regarding lack of physics and maths teachers  ,the Minister assured to prioritise teacher posting to this school once the recruitment of the teachers have been done by APCS.

The Ministers inspected the school campus later. This school established in 1953 is one of the oldest schools in Ziro-I block.

The alumnis who contributed are Er. Dani Gambo, EE,PHED, Er. Pura Dolo,AE, Hydropower, Pura Tago, Taku Chatung, Taku Aping, Kago Duri, Tara Abing, Er.Taku Tayang and Pura Baku.
