Car fell into reservoir of NEEPCO, four rescued, search for fifth to continue

ITANAGAR, JAN : A four wheeler car reportedly meet with an accident and plunge into the reservoirs of NEEPCO dam in Yazali  in Lower Subansiri district on Tuesday at around 12.30 PM. The team of rescues and search operation has rescued four person out of five while search for fifth person to continue on Thursday. Said officials.

The Lower Subansiri district police sources inform that as per information the incident of Pitapol area under Yazali Police station on Tuesday wherein one car Swift Desire bearing registration no- AR 01 C/ 8096 boarded with five person fell down into the NEEPCO dam, Yazali reservoir at around 12.30 hrs. four person has been rescued from the water and forwarded to Community health centre, Yazali for medical treatment. One person is yet to rescued and retrieved form the water of the dam. The police sources said.

When contacted, the SP Ziro Sachin Kr Singhal informed that as per information one person namely Raju Babri was drowned in the incident and still missing with the swift car. He said.

The Yazali OC Licha Taz with his team and locals and security staffs of NEEPCO has visited the sport and carried out search operation but in vain due to deep water level. He said.

The personnel of NDRF 12 battalion based at Doimukh led by inspector Rakesh Kumar has also joined the search operation who has also carried search in the vicinity on Tuesday and the search operation will again continue on Thursday. Added SP Ziro.

He further said that the team will try its best effort to trace the missing person and locate the vehicle.
