Guv Interacts with Local Leaders and Groups, Emphasizes on Socio-Economic Dev and Environmental Conservation

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. General KT Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd.), embarked on a five-day tour of West Kameng and Tawang Districts. During the visit, he engaged in a productive interaction with Gaon Burahs (GBs), Panchayati Raj Institute (PRI) members, and Self Help Groups (SHGs) of Dirang Circle at Dirang, West Kameng District.

The Governor urged Gaon Burahs and Panchayat leaders to collaborate with the District Administration to bolster the health and education sectors in the State. He emphasized their crucial role in eradicating tuberculosis, cancer, and drug abuse among the youth by spreading awareness as a social responsibility. Furthermore, he encouraged the involvement of local educated youth in the education and health domains within the State.

Addressing the importance of cleanliness and preserving the pristine environment, the Governor stressed the need for Panchayat members and communities to actively engage in waste management and promote health and hygiene. He highlighted that these efforts are essential to accommodate the ever-increasing tourist inflow in the State.

Expressing contentment over the State’s development in recent years and the enthusiastic participation of its people in the process, the Governor praised the Central Government and State Government for implementing numerous welfare schemes and programs with the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Vishwas Sabka Prayas’, which has brought tangible benefits to the citizens. He also commended the State Government’s special outreach program ‘Sewa Aapke Dwar’, encouraging Gaon Burahs to contribute to the socio-economic development process while upholding their traditions and customs.

In the interactive session, the Gaon Burahs shared their challenges in efficiently carrying out their duties. The event was attended by notable officials, including West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Akriti Sagar, IAS, Superintendent of Police Sudhanshu Dhama, IPS, Dirang Additional Deputy Commissioner JT Obi, and Heads of Departments.

To celebrate the occasion, artists from the Monpa Institute of Performing Arts (MIPA) presented a mesmerizing traditional cultural program, showcasing the rich heritage of the region.

The Governor’s visit and interactions highlighted the importance of community involvement in promoting social welfare, education, health, and environmental conservation in the beautiful State of Arunachal Pradesh.
