Itanagar, Dec 8: The Hydro Power Development Corporation of Arunachal Pradesh Limited (HPDCAPL) celebrated its 17th Foundation Day with a solemn flag hoisting ceremony at the corporate office. The ceremony, led by Toko Onuj, CMD, HPDCAPL, took place at 9 am and involved official staff members, marking the beginning of the day’s festivities.During the ceremony, Toko Onuj addressed the assembled staff, reflecting on the corporation’s inception.
He expressed gratitude to the founders for their vision and contributions, acknowledging the longstanding commitment of old staff members. Emphasizing the importance of ongoing support from the staff, he created a vibrant atmosphere during the gathering.Following the flag hoisting ceremony, the celebration continued at the Banquet Hall, Niti Vihar, Itanagar, where the 17th Foundation Day festivities unfolded.

The event, graced by Ankur Garg, IAS, Commissioner, HPD & Power, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, witnessed the inauguration of HPDCAPL’s official Diary and Calendar, symbolizing the beginning of a year-long celebration of achievements.
Distinguished guests, including the General Manager of SJVN and Under Secretary (Hydro) from the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, joined the festivities. Ankur Garg, the Chief Guest, encouraged collaborative efforts with CPSUs like NEEPCO, NHPC, and SJVN. He stressed diversification into solar and wind energy alongside hydro energy.
The ceremony featured cultural performances by HPDCAPL’s talented team, adding vibrancy to the occasion. Er. Toko Onuj, Chairman Cum Managing Director of HPDCAPL, shared insights into the corporation’s inception and highlighted the significance of the Jal Urja Mitra Skill Development Training Program. Certificates were awarded to 29 individuals for successfully completing the training.
