Independence day celebrated at remote villages of TCL

Itanagar:  The remote villages of the Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) Districts of Arunachal Pradesh were draped in Tricolour during the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Living upto it’s sobriquet, “Friends of the Hill People”, the Assam Rifles soldiers deployed in TCL region reached out to our countrymen residing in remote villages nestled in the majestic Patkai Ranges along the Indo-Myanmar border to generate awareness and instill pride about the revered Indian National Flag.

The guardians of Patkai region embarked upon a series of initiatives and noble gestures to make the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign a grand success. The Children were encouraged to sing patriotic songs and express their patriotic emotions by organizing drawing competitions on the theme  ‘My Flag’ My Pride’.

A concerted awareness drive was launched to generate awareness on Flag code and importance of National Flag. The youth turned up in large numbers to participate in Azadi Marches,   chanting slogans of Vande Mataram & Bharat Mata ki Jai.

Taking out their time from the relentless operations being conducted to give a safe environment to the tribesmen living in border villages, the Assam Rifles soldiers gave  wide publicity to ‘Selfie  with Flag’ & ‘Pin My Flag’ initiatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The unwavering faith of the locals in the efforts of security forces was evident in their fervent participation in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, in spite of the tense security situation perpetrated by the Under Ground organizations along the Indo-Myanmar border in the recent past.
